Romantic weekend suggestions please!!

    Hi all!

    Im from County Monaghan & looking for a weekend mini-break to a nice part of the country & was hoping for some recommendations!

    My requirements are as follows:
    1. Less than 4hrs travel
    2. Romantic destination/hotel
    3. Somewhere with lots to do - activities/bars/restaurants,etc.

    Just planning a romantic weekend surprise for my boyfriend & would really appreciate some suggestions!

    Westport Co. Mayo be nice or Galway. A few nice hotels and locations there. Parts of Meath and Westmeath be nice too. Trim is a nice place! Either Mayo, Galway, Meath or Westmeath be likely choices they aren't too far from the border they be less than four hours surely maybe Mayo and Galway be a little further.

    A good few places there to do a lot of activities in particular outdoor stuff and pubs there are nice too!

    Yeah, Westport or Galway would both be good places to go.

    A bit on the quiet side but if you're lookin for a good venue with lovely walks,horse riding etc you could do worse than the brooklodge hotel in aughrim,great food,great beds,that's me happy,
    They have 2 restaurants,both great
