I'm repeating 3rd year (don't ask:() , anyway I was wondering if there were other people, repeaters or otherwise who don't know many people and are in the same boat... all my friends have graduated and I feel and look like a loner! I'm in every day.. and getting bored already eating on my own.. so if anyone is the same hit me up!

ps. just for food... chat or whatever. Nothing dodgy

Omgzz we can start a super happy friends society, where people watch 'The Room' and throw spoons and stuff.

I think there's actually a soc in NUI Galway that does that! :P

Well maybe not a society... but a random gathering of loners and repeats.. that at least we could hang around with each other (like the cool people do!:D) lol and if we don't get on .... just pretend it never happened! So how shall we proceed? Any ideas ... meeting time , a venue... hope it wont be awkward... much... meeting the 1st time!

I remember whilst lurking on the UCC forum seeing that they had boardsie coffee mornings - maybe we could have one of those? It would be a good way for those on here who have been finding it hard to get to know a lot of people to meet a few more :D What do yous think?

Getting involved with clubs and societies is also a great way to get to know people. Fairs Day (where you sign up to clubs & socs) is on this Wednesday in the main sports hall :) It just costs €2 to be a member for the year and it's well worth it!!

Someone I know that went to Maynooth was painfully shy (Not accusing the OP of being shy btw!) and just found it sickeningly hard to talk to people. They didn't know anyone. It sounded pretty miserable to be so unhappy whilst others were having the times of their lives at that age. Great to see people having an eye out for each other.
Not having actually went to Maynooth myself, is there a "net" of sorts to look after those people these days, that might otherwise just stay lost in the cracks? Shy Soc perhaps? :)
