Hi. I'll just put this out here and see if anyone has any suggestions. I would like to try and get from Dublin to mainland europe without flying, and without having to book in advance. So - just to be able to go on a day without anything booked.

I've been looking at a few possible options (sail & rail to London, and then the sail and rail from Harwich to Hook of Holland), and also considering Sail and Rail to London, and then Eurolines coach from London to Paris.

Anywhere in mainland europe would do, France, Belguim, Netherlands, from where I could then make a connection on the 2nd day.

Just wondering if anyone knows of any other ways or routes to get overland to Europe that don't require advance booking ?

Thanks for any advice or suggestions
