Good to see that there are some public sector jobs around, embargo or not:

    http://www.publicjobs.ie/publicjobs/en/star/goToJobDetails.do?id=1943
Executive Assistants, Temporary Entry Level Positions, University College Cork

Applications are invited for the above temporary opportunities which may arise from time to time. A panel will be created from which such posts may be filled. The panel will be in place for a three year period from the date of completion of the selection process. The duties of Executive Assistants involve a wide range of administrative, secretarial and clerical duties in various departments within the University.

Yes - I saw this too. But the post calls for written and spoken Irish, so that kind of leaves me out! :) Will still apply though...

    No it doesn't...
Written and spoken Irish is desirable.

Yes - I saw that. I've taken it to mean that preference will be given to Irish speakers. Like I say, I'll still apply, but don't expect to be called for interview...

Has anyone here made it onto a panel recently? Do these positions ever turn into something more permanent or once the contract is done is that it?
