You'd be better off going into something like a military surplus store, thats the only way you'll get an idea of what boots to use.

I had a pair and when they were new they were comfortable, had good support and were very dry. But after about six months of being used almost every weekend they were much softer and one started to leak while the heel on the inside started to wear exposing a piece of metal from the sole.

Thanks for the replies guys. Was only really looking at them as I have to return something to the store and thought they might be worth picking up. Il continue my search elsewhere :)

get these they are a wee bit expensive but the quality and durability are second to none. i have a pair i use for work and play, 7 years old and still going strong.
buy cheap buy often is my motto.

+1 on Meindl - great boots.
    Also consider:
    http://www.uktactical.com/acatalog/Altama_EXO_Black.html

UK tactical are a fantastic website for stuff like this - kit arrives within three days of the order - ordered shed loads off them - couldn't recommend them enough.

always best to try on boots especially hiking boots before you plan on using them hiking/airsofting.
if you dont.... well you will see if it happens
