Astra wiper motor

The wipers have been blowing fuses every couple of months for a while now but today when I changed the fuse it blew straight away. I tried a few times until I ran out of fuses :o. I took the linkage and motor out and the linkage is not stiff or seized. Then I spun the motor over a few times with a spanner, pluged it back in and it worked so I put the whole thing back together.
Of course it blew the fuse again as soon as I tried it though and I have come in now sick of it :(. I'm assuming the motor is the problem it works when there is no load on it but blows fuses when there is. If it is the motor can they be fixed (set of brushes maybe) or do I have to get a new one, there expensive the one I have now cost me 80 euro from a scrap yard a few years ago.
    Thanks for any advice.
