Can anyone give an indication what would be a reasonable rate per hour for a first year university student , no teaching experience but good leaving cert maths result, helping a junior cert. pupil with maths?

    Thanks in advance.

Undergraduate helpers get paid €11.15 an hour when helping out in labs down here in UCC. I got €18.15 per hour as a postgrad.

If you have to travel to the student I'd say 15 isn't too far off the mark.

Being good at something is no indication of how you'll be at teaching it.

I'd say for an unqualified teacher €15 would be fair enough, but please stop if you are confusing the student and ALWAYS do the maths using the same methods his/her teacher has taught them in school.
