I think you can get electric 5000 round box mags

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 511 ✭✭✭Alan b.

170 i believe if you are after a standard mag that doesnt need winding (non box mag)

Biggest I've seen is a 5,000 round box magazine here. It has to be wound up but it does that itself with batteries.

Biggest I've seen that doesn't need any winding, manual or otherwise, is a 190 round mid-cap magazine. I forget where I saw that, though.

the 190 is the vn hicap, its winding. The highest size mid I've seen is 150-170... Ares and KA mags.

there perfect no ratelling or dry fire , any irish shops now that do them in 1 piece , it would take me ages to get rid of 4 mags .

That type of 5000rd boxmag is anathema to most sensible airsofters, in my view the only airsoft devices that should have that type of capacity are support guns.

More conventional options would be the following:

    http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/battleaxe-850rd-electric-winding-dual-magazine-for-m4-m16.html

    or

    http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/battleaxe-850rd-sound-control-magazine-for-m4-m16-aeg-rechargeable.html

With the first you press a button on the rear of the mag to wind it, the second is sound activated and automatically winds itself. Many airsofters would have issues with these as well, personally I don't see the difference between using these and regular hi-caps but that's just me.

I used these just for reference, I know various Irish retailers stock versions of these products so check with your local retailer

yeah box mags look bad and heavy .
still need an irish shop that sells

150 or so mid cap mags
    non wind
    NON WIND

    normall looking . .........................

friend of mine has an M4 2500 rd battery powered box/drum mag.
he loves it but i hate the f**king thing..
its ugly and all plastic and fells crap.
it takes him a day and age to reload it and it sounds terrible when winding.
it can barely keep up with his gun which is a stock G&G on auto wind and he opts for manual wind every now and then as its easier.
i like 2 lonex mags strapped together with one upside down.
gives you 720 rounds of no battery madness..
im tempted to get some of those 190 rd mags and to just that to them.

but like everything everyone has thier opinions.
i just like being eble to lift my gun above my head every now and then

I've never seen mid-caps for M4s with any greater than 130rd capacity, I have seen M14 or AK mids with up to 190 but no more than that.

Try these http://www.seairsoft.net/product_details.php?id=814&sub=64&subcat=MAG Mid Capacity Magazines Mid Capacity Magazines

    Another option might be http://www.airsofteire.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=898&category_id=133&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=26
These only need to be wound up once in the safe zone and they will feed all BBs, you shouldn't need to wind them in-game.

does anybody else have or seen these in use do you only wind once before a game or do you still have to pull the string in game after say 50 rounds .

Plenty of info/reviews out there, wouldn't do any harm to look for it.

Shock horror, there's already a review on boards, OMG! http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056261507

A buddy of mine uses these and he winds once before the game starts and thats it - no more winding....an alternative again to the drawstring type is the allen key - similar principal but an allen key does the winding before you join the game - again no more winding required in game - 300 RD if i remember correctly. Yet another alternative is the battleaxe auto winding mag - 1100 rd capacity and winds via an electric motor and comes with recharger and rechargable batteries - i have one of these (heavy...) and it works well - looks cool too! Bray airsoft have them for about 40 bucks so they aint gonna break the bank either!

the lonex mags(flash mags/pull cord mags) are actually really good. i have 3 and my friend has 3 and it would be the first thing id ever go for when im airsofting.
if you do get them it should say somewhere to tie the cord in a knot just before the end of it, do it when you get them, it adds a bit of grip when pulling and if the plastic bit that you pull breaks off it wont go back up into the spring area and f*ck it all up.

and am wind them before a game is a very good idea.you think its done? give another few pulls to be sure, they make ALOT of noise while in a game and its very distinctive.

although not cheap, well worth getting maybe 2 or 3 for a test, like everything you might or might not like them

aahh noise i dont mind noise but does the bb's shake in the mag cause that drives me up the wall in night games ,

noise when feeding okay , noise when shooting great , noise when running f##ks you up .

Lonex flashmags are essentially quick-wind hi-caps. So I would imagine they rattle all the time.

do m16 mags fit in yours , if so yes .
do m4 mags fit in youres if so yes .
if m15 mags fits in youres , yes

but you have to get a 5 pack of them mags from asia - 70+ p&p + customs. thats about 90 euro.

just but a normall mag fill it with bbs wind to youre hearts content then pour any left out of the mag have them stacked on top of eachother , no shake 50 rounds wind free , there the same price as some 30 round caps aswel .

    and yes

some mags dont fit or feed right in some guns so no they might not..
its down to trial and error from there.
only thing you can do is buy them and see..
usually if theres abit of extra room a bit of electrical tap does the trick.
some guns.. i think KWA are extremely picky on mags.
just because it is an m4 doesnt mean it will automatically work in airsoft.
some magwells like Dboys i think are wider than usual ones.

I've a classic army m15a4 special purpose carbine and never had a mag not work so far andhave tried loads. The odd mag will be a little loose, like some d boys mags, but they still lock in place and feed.

only thing ive also not found that works is king arms metal mid caps.
