Hello, I have been asked to the full day of a wedding. The only suit I have is a black suit. Just wondering if I would look stupid wearing a black suit at a wedding? Dont really want to be spending 200+ on a suit now.

Yes this would bbe acccecptable in my opinion. However i would jazz it up a bit with a coloured shirt/tie. And depending on your personal style and preference you dont have to wear the jacket at all or for the whole day. Nice slacks and a shirt tucked in with a tie looks great. And dont forget, the option is always there to rent a suit . With the debs season starting alot of the suit rental places will have deals on. Just make sure you dont go for a white shirt with the black suit, for obvious reasons.

A black suit is totally acceptable for a wedding, you'll probably not have your jacket on for long once the meal starts anyway so it'll just be trousers and shirt. Wear a nice shirt (not a white one - you'll look like a bouncer!) and tie and you'll be fine!

Yeah, make sure you dress it up well, go for a nice strong colour shirt & a complimenting tie. Don't be tempted by a 'neutral'- your suit is your neutral so you an go a bit wild.

Thanks for the advice, a shirt and tie is all I need then :)

Just make sure you have decent dress shoes. NO SQUARE TOES!

    ;)

Yep, completely fine. One tip - while it is never good to match a tie and pocket square precisely, definitely don't do it while wearing a black suit at a wedding unless you want to risk getting mistaken for one of the wedding party itself.

    :)

    Yes, black would be ok.

I agree with everything what was said above.

I just wanted to say, that in the spring in Arnotts bargan shop I bought a suit for my husband less than 100 euros. Grey, very nice one.

But in your case, black suits perfectly. :) NIce tie and shirts, and you'll be fine.
