    Ok lads,
I dont like Floyd (amazing boxer etc), so any other people who dont like Mayweather dont take this as another Mayweather fan thread.
Iv watched the post fight interview a few times now.
People are giving out about the disrespect Floyd gave Larry. And it was.
But after watching this again and again, does anyone else think its a little.......setup to an extent????
It got a reaction in fairness.
HBO, made a serious amount on this fight.
Seems to me it was a little too friendly to be serious.

It's pro boxing, so nothing would surprise me. Could well be a set up.

Not at all-both where genuinely annoyed
Merchant genuinely did not know what to say.

Rush Boxing club and Rush Martial Arts head coach.

    No.

What would a set-up achieve? The fight was over, the PPVs were already bought. And besides, it didn't look like a set-up.

No setup, for a start how would anyone set up a fight finish like that?
WWF would have been proud of that one! :D

As i said, i dont like Floyd, i think he's a great boxer, but dont like him as a person.
Merchant, i respect, but didnt think he looked too annoyed????

Perhaps another 480mill for HBO?? Which is what i heard they made on "The Last Word" tonight according to Steve Bunce...

No one would, but no one did predict it, AFAIK, Merchant said Floyd was winning comfortably when Floyd went off on one.
Just smells to me, and thats from a hater of of Floyd.

Listen to the way Merchant says "You we're ahead, you were dominating..", there was a BUT coming and Floyd knew he was going to continue the line of questioning.
LM has been openly critical of Floyd in the past and has said it to his face, it's not the first time they have disagreed on camera.
It just blew up this time with Floyd starting with "You never give me a fair shot..", Floyd believes this and he's not a person that will avoid speaking his mind

HBO setting this up would be shooting themselves in the foot, the fight was last week but Floyd is still talking about LM, Floyd has, and will turn people against Larry and HBO sticking with him will piss off some. You only have to look at how some people post on the web to see the influence Floyd has, some people use his exact words/phrasing when they're speaking on behalf of themselves. Influencing some people into believing that one of the main faces of HBO Boxing shouldn't be there is not going to help them when it comes to selling PPV's in the future.
I would have bought Primetime PPV only some said the commentators are fairly ****, having to listen to people you dont like makes a huge difference when it comes to shelling out money to see it

    Nah, I'm not buying it...

I dont think Larry Merchant would have left it this late in his career to risk his reputation on scripting interviews for HBO... He's similarly blunt with all of the boxers....

Mayweather ... one of the best boxers ever, and one of the worst role models ever
