    Hi all,

Myself and the better half are looking for somewere to go in Ireland for a few nights. It will be a piss up more than anything. Although im sure she will be looking to do a bit of shopping too:rolleyes:

Anyway we are from Dublin so thats a no go. We have been to Kilkenny many, many time (LOVE that city) and been to Galway a few times too.
So can anybody recommend a good night life city for us to explore all be it in a drunken state!

    Cheers

Killarney, bit touristy, but great pubs + lots of them, lots of things to do too, lots of hotels so easy to get a bargain.

westport good spot full of hens and stags on weekends nights, quite small so easy to walk from bar to bar, carrick on shannon friday or saturday night again very small, clubs are out of town though so not really walkable, waterford has a whole street just bars and restaurants (johns street)

Westport sound's good. Our kind of place. Waterford on the other hand is a no for us. We cant stand the place. Nothing against the people or anything we just dont like it. My brother lives down there so we have been down a few times.

    Thanks for the replys;)

Stags are ok in westpost, but i'm not sure about hen parties. I deffo know some pubs that won't have anything to do with them. Why are you and your wife going away to have a piss up? Surely you can both enjoy a few days together without such crudity? This is just an observation on my behalf, not trying to pontificate.

Galway and Kilkenny recommended too, Galway especially.

All the pubs in Westport are within staggering distance. Good food and cheap hotels, but it wouldn't be the best place for shopping.

Considering your only looking for a piss-up ill put in a shout for Sligo good selection of late bars and nightclubs(4 nightclubs 5/6 late bars there all close to each other)

    Surprised nobody has mentioned Cork?
If you can get over the fact that they hate us Dubs then you'll have a blast down there.
