DCU fees payment after dropping out

    Hi,

I dropped out of a 4 year Level 8 course after the first year two years ago. I was eligible for 'free EU fees' for that year. I started in DCU, attending a 3 year Level 8 in which I paid full fees for my first year. I have passed first year and I am about to start my second year.

I logged on to pay my fees and it says the balance is €6674. I was wondering if I will have to pay full fees again this year or will I be eligible for 'free EU fees'? I'm also in receipt of a full grant for this year. I can't seem to find any information any where.

    Thanks.

I woulds say you should be eligible but the best people to ask are the fees office (fees@dcu.ie).

Did you fill out a fre fee's eligibility form in first year, or this year even??

Id not you need to print one out and get it stamped by your old college

This is the form I am talking about:

    Hi CGXX,

You're in an identical situation as myself. The form DanDan is referring to just needs to be brought to your previous college, stamped, then dropped into the finance office. The woman in the finance office told me once I bring in proof that I'm actually entitled to a grant I won't have to pay the capitation fee, just the €38 but it has to be done and brought in by the end of the month. You can fill out the grant application online and just print it and show them.

Also, I dropped my in, hey changed the code to say I was entitled to free fees and it still says €6632....apparently all normal???

    Best of luck

Based on what's happened to friends of mine in the past, my understanding is that since you've already completed year 1, year 2, etc., of a level 8 course, you are not entitled to free fee for doing a year 1, etc., for a level 8 course again.

Same as myself. You get 4 years of a university course. You've used up one year, so you'll get 2nd, 3rd and 4th year paid for, but you must pay for 1st year again.
