Attic insulation cost

    I am looking at topping up my attic insulation. I have received a quote of €1400 to lay down 180sq mtrs of 8inch Knauf Earthwool.

    The price also includes insulating 2 water tanks with 6 inch insulation, raising up the floor which is 6 off 8x4 sheets and installing a walkway 800mm wide by 8 meters long to the water tank in the attic.

    Would this be a good price?

    Roll of knauf is 5.93 180 / 5.93 31 rolls. at about 20-25 euro a roll 620@20 euro 775@25.

    6 sheets of 8x4 ply is about 20-22 euro another 120-140

    so i'd say it's a fairly good deal. Working in an attic is torture.

    B&Q have a great deal on Knauf and Rockwool insulation at the moment so check and see if you save some money supplying the insulation yourself.
