I thought I had recorded the All Ireland on RTE2 HD but forget to stick the USB key before I went to the match :(

Is there anybody like me who records these as keepers? I would love a .ts file of the whole programme for my media player. Can anyone help?
Even the Sunday Game in HD ...

    TIA

I have it recorded in HD in a .wtv file. The thing is it's 20gb in size.

Any chance you could share it as a torrent or something? Would be great to have a HD copy was rushing out Sunday and forgot to record it.

20gb is just too big really. I'll see if I can strip out everything but the match and put it somewhere for ye.

It should be easy to convert to .ts but 20gigs would take you a week to upload :(
Are you in Dublin? I'd post you a usb key together with a stamped addressed envelope. I'm fairly desperate.
If you're in town for a pint tonight, I'd pass the USB to you.

I'm actually in Limerick but yeah if you want me to put it on stick for you then no worries. PM me and I'll give you my address to send the stick.

Format factory (free) converts WTV files perfectly.

    To MPEG4 Divx for Example.

It will no longer be 20g!

Divx is just for PCs .... I've a 42" TV so need the full HD file.

    Is it now ?!

Divx HD or MKV or MPEG4 HD encoding will look fine on a 42" inch TV but may be 3 to 5 times smaller.

How are you going to play a proprietary Windows Media Player file ?

Never encountered it before. What's proprietary about it? Assume its the container? Then, I'll just demux it? And then wrap it in a .ts container?

As for divx, i've never seen a divx file that scales up, but then again, i've never seen seen anything other than mkv in 720 or 1080. Why does nobody encode using divx?
My thinking: If you loose size, you are losing bits, you are losing quality.

Just got a PM from a kindly boards member who pointed me to the Kerry GAA forum. There's a 11.5gig .MP4 upload there.
    Will be testing tonight :D
