Got a 3yr old sprocker on trial Monday, dog came highly recommended buy a cousin of mine. The lad that had him was selling him to buy a working terrier. Picked the dog up on the way home from work anyways and had already arranged for two of the buddies to meet me at home so we could bring the dog to a nice bit of cover up the back of mine.

We headed up anyway, the two buddies were at the end of the break, me at one side and the brother opposite me. I let the dog in and he hunted very hard up through it, he's not one bit afraid of briers anyway. About half ways up through it he starts roaring his head off, I can hear him busting up through it inside. Next thing a fox breaks out the brothers side..... BANG! hits the fox good & hard but it doesn't drop him, he's gone too far to fire the second so im thinking to myself.... F#@K!!! Then he starts to slow and stops, throws himself down but by no means dead.

Two seconds later out comes this sprocker up the field trailing the fox and locks on solid onto him. By the time the brother ran the 80yrds up to them, lets just say there was no need for the second cartridge!

Just bought myself a new dog!! :D

He sounds like a good one, well wear as they say.

I know a lad who has one and he walks behind him the whole time, you get duds in every breed.

I have a springer bitch too, she's unreal on birds & this lad is retrieving back to the hand as well... I reckon they will throw some nice pups.
