    Hi

Heading for Nepal in a few weeking and looking for a recommendation for some where decent to stay in both Kathmandu and Pokhara, night we arrive & night prior to departure in Kathmandu, Thamel I'm thinking and then a possibly slightly nicer guesthouse in Pokhara for the night before setting off and for 3/4 nights at the end of a trek.

    Any thoughts are much appreciated.

Not sure what your budget is but there are plenty of good cheap guesthouses in KTM. The Kathmandu Guesthouse (I think that's what it's called) is probably the most famous. It's quite expensive and not the best value for money but there's a great buzz about the place and it's right in the heart of Thamel. I stayed in a place called Red Planet a fair bit and it was fine - staff were very friendly and it was clean and cheap and in a good central location.

Can't offer much help on Pokhara as I stayed in a bit of a dive. Enjoy the trip, it's a fantastic country.
