Sorry I'm not sure if this is the right section. I want to reclaim my tax from 2010. I became unemployed in June 2010 and was unemployed for the rest of the year and I have just started back in college this week.

So i really need the money back but I never got my P45 or a P60 from that employer. They said they sent it out but I never got it.

Please does anyone know is there's a way to claim tax back or do I heed these forms to do it?

if you P45 was issued in June 2010, then you wouldn't get a P60 as its only issued to people in employment on 31 Dec of any year. Employer should have copy of the P45 and should be easily able to run off a copy of it. failing that, ring revenue and ask them for a P21 Balancing Statement. When a P45 is issued, a copy goes to revenue so they should have all the details.

A p45 will do nothing for you at this stage, you need to ring revenue and ask for the P21.

Where it will get interesting is if they say they cannot do it 'cos they haven't had your details from the employer ... but deal with that when it happens.
