Almost every news show in existence features some form of entertainment section at some stage. Not every single minute of every news broadcast has to be serious. So long as they didn't feature a 60 minute interview or replace Dobbo and Sharon with Lorraine Keane and Karen Koster, it will be OK.

rte news, just with most news, is all sh*te.
they pick and choose what to report on, what to say, what not to say. etc. especially with politics.

The news is about ratings too. They love to report on crap that rile people up. eg, public sector etc etc. I also love the way when a job is letting people go, AFTER that report they'd mention about new jobs being created lol. Like yesterday, "up to 500 aviva jobs are set to go .. but sure another 150 jobs are being created by something other crowd. Not all bad, right? thank you for watching 6-one" :pac:

That feature was on the margins of acceptable. Had it been Miley "Mylie" Cyrus I'd have written a letter to Noel Curran.

To be honest, anything apart from Recession/Banks/Presidential elections/Bailouts/Bondholders etc. is a welcome change at this stage!

If that has to be a piece on Britney Spears, then damnit, I'll take it...

If it was a joke, Brian Dobson would say something like "The presidential election, what's all that about?", and then take the piss out of all the candidates.

I wasn't thinking about looks, more of how that lately Sharon gyrates about in the chair like she could do with something one more time.
