That's 'cos we are. Remember, even if you're not paranoid, that doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

No, even if they were couldn't give a fück. In fact I'd hope they were. You would obviously be a person of interest to the assembled throng and if you are behaving normally you must be something worth discussing.

no.let me assure you people have a lot more to think about,eg morgtages, arrears, losing jobs, etc than concerning themselves with you,or anybody else.:)

    No, not ever.

In part that's because the behaviour you describe of the crowd is extremely uncommon unless:
    • You are a well-known celebrity
    • You are standing beside a celebrity
    • You are waving a knife / gun / sword / syringe in a menacing manner
    • You just broke wind audibly
    • You are naked
    • There is an animal on your shoulder

I'm pretty sure that if you don't meet any of the criteria above then nobody is paying any great attention to you.

    Be at peace,

    Z

People are strange when you're a stranger,
Faces look ugly when you're alone,
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted,
Streets are uneven when you're down

Well thank god for that. That Ocsar fella was right. There's nothing worse than not being talked about.

or you walk past a group of people or someone, and they start laughing, you immediately think they're laughing at you. Even though they're really not.

    right....RIGHT?! :(

    I was that man, once.

It wasn't as a result of drinking; I was genuinely taken ill as a result of a stomach bug while driving through Dublin. I stopped the car, got out and ran for the bushes, but didn't make it, so the footpath was the only option. Nobody stared, or even looked twice at me... I imagine they assumed I was drunk!

So, to try demonstrate I was sober (and because by now I'm dying not just of the illness but also mortified) I bought three large bottles of water and washed the footpath, cleaning off the mess to the best of my abilities. Got back into the car, slept for an hour before driving off with all windows open to try avoid the feeling of nausea. Stayed in bed for two days.

Chear up OP , if they are talking about you at least it means they are leaving some other poor soul alone ...and it's not like they have forgotten you

/ peeps out side of curtains ...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,439 ✭✭✭Kevin Duffy

Well OP, we're all talking about you. Happy now?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,191 ✭✭✭✭Latchy

(And) It's better to be talked about than talked at to ...

'' Everybodys talkin at me , I don't hear a word their saying ,only the echos of my mind '' .

Used to be quite paranoid of this type of thing myself, being perpetually stoned throughout my early twenties didn't help much either.

Relax, more than likely they don't even know you're there. But on the off chance that this does happen (and it can, more likely with muppet teenagers) think about it: They're a bunch of people safe in a group having a laugh at the expense of a stranger.

Says way more about them then it does you.

Are you unhappy in life OP? Do you work? Do you have a significant other and / or a healthy support network of friends and family?

All the time op but I usually give them good reason to talk about me.
I don't care what they are saying, I'm immune to it at this stage.

You can do that, but you might be as well off joining in your own thread and having a laugh about it.

That's a scientifically proven method to make you happier.

And don't worry, nobody's talking about you.

The gossip papers tabloids love this stuff

ie, '' Celeb complains because she/he's nobodys talking about him/ her anymore being ignored ''

    3 years earlier ...

'' Celeb take newspaper tabloid to court for breech of privacy ''

    Jesus wept alright
