    Hi all..
So we replaced our old DIY desktop, was 6 years ols and just not cutting it any more.. Got ourselves a nice Samsung R540 laptop..

Using a powered USB hub to connect mouse, printer, keyboard and the like..

My Cannon scanner has a serial port.. is there any adaptor I can ger to avoid having to buy a new flatbed scanner ??

    Help appreciated

Are you sure it's a serial port and not a parallel port?

Yeah, this. It's more common for older printers to have had a Parallel port as opposed to a serial port. In fact, I don't recall ever seeing a printer with a serial port.
