How to receive a package from AN Post with normal working hours?

    Hello!
I´ve been on Ireland for a month now and I have a question about the postal service here.
I just got this "sorry we missed you" paper in my mailbox that says I need to go to my delivery office, fine but the problem is that their open times are 8am-3pm monday-friday and obviously I work between 7am-4pm.
Then I saw that you can get it redelivered to your address. The problem is that you cant choose any time when you want them to deliver it for you. So they will probably come around 10am again and I wont get it.
How can a person with normal working times receive a package? And I dont have any unemployed friends that can get it for me either.

Leave a note on the door asking them to leave with a specified neighbour.

You used to be able to collect packages on Sturday, but as part of An Post's service improvements you can no longer do that.
My post office allows collection up to 5,or at least it used to (I haven't checked recently).
    Welcome to Ireland btw.

On the form that An Post left you, there used to be an option to get it delivered to an alternative address. If this is still the case, you can get the delivery re-directed to your work address.

Yeah, this used to happen me a lot.

Have you actually asked them in the sorting/delivery office what times they are there at? It may say 8-3 on the docket but I asked in mine and they told me there is always someone there from 6am until after 5pm, so I go around 7am and collect if I need to.

if they can get into your back garden ask them to put it in your recyling bin, thats where they usually leave mine.

Many of the sorting offices are open much earlier than 8am. I often collect packages from mine around 07.30 am.

Moved to Online Buying & Auctions
