    2004 Nissan Kubistar Van 150,000 miles 1.5 dci 70

A month ago in cork the "glow plug/engine management light"? came on (yellow)

Van would only do 30 mph max.
Went off again and van has driven perfect since.

Last night on m50 it was flicking on and off but van was flying along with no loss of power.
Closer to home it was staying on but going off when i depressed the clutch to change gear.
Started it there and light is off again.

    Any ideas?

And...anyone in south dublin with a fault code reader who would plug her in and tell me the problem (how much does this normally cost to get done?)

    Thanks.

there should be people out there (a friend of a friend) with a handheld code reader that should point you in the right direction...after that if you want to delve deeper into the problem you may have to go to a main dealer who'll do a full diagnostic check on a laptop (may cost anything up to €100).

btw - your symtoms are similar to the ones i had on my mitsu colt turned out to be a > throttle position sensor

    Sounds right^^

Coming on yesterday when I pressed the accelerator and flicked off when I lifted off.
    Was it an expensive fix?

i didn't fix it...it only rarely happens and lasts a day, and then everythings fine and dandy

i was told that there's 3 sensors > one on top of the acc pedal and two within the engine itself, to find out which one is dodgy you have to do a full diag test
