iPhone Repair Procedure - O2

Have an iPhone 3Gs. The battery keeps dying after a few minutes even when fully charged. Have insurance with O2, and the insurance is billed monthly on the phone bill. The phone is out of warranty, so I can't have it replaced.

I contacted O2 to ask about having it repaired and claiming for this on the insurance. They are just giving me the run around. They are basically saying that I have to deal directly with Apple.

Does anyone know what the procedure is here?

Do I have to send the phone back to Apple for repair, pay Apple for the repair, and then try to claim back the cost of this through O2 insurance?

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Without getting you caught up in fraud Or getting me in trouble on boards......the best thing that could happen you & ur iPhone would be if u lost it by leaving it on the bus or in a taxi by accident or somebody robbed it on you (not that I want you to be the victim of a crime).....Then u can make an insurance claim through your O2 insurance policy

Apple will charge to repair if it is out of warranty....

sidestepping prettyboys post for a moment, can you dig out the t&c's of your o2 insurance? does it cover out of warranty repairs?

if so tell them to take their finger out of their hole and shove their runaround up it and fix your bloody phone.

    *edit*

i just checked for you, if you have phonecover extra (€12.99 per month) then you are covered for:
    Accessories.
Lost or damaged batteries, battery chargers, hands free kits and cases are all also covered, up to €130 replacement value including VAT.

tell them the battery is damaged, quote them the t&c, tell them you'll hold while they go check.
