    have installed a new 320g hdd in my 60g ps3 ,after formatting it says i have 263g left out of 298g this goes down to 244 when i do restore,i dont think the operating system of the ps3 is as big as 35g help please.when my ps3 had 60g hdd in it read 28g remaining out of 55g so iam missing a lot of memory somewhere

    I have a 160gb hdd, and have 149gb available to me. The PS3's OS takes up room on the drive so that's why there is less space. Your original 60gb probably had 52/54 available if i can remember correctly. usually works out at about 10 % loss

    thank you for your replay but my 60g read 28g remaining from 55g thats with everything on my ps3 i.e. ps3 os and all my downloads pictures, music etc,but now it reads 244g out of 298g with the same stuff on it .thats 54g compaired to 27g with my old hard drive .typing this i have justed noticed something it has doubled from 27g to 54g all my stuff must be on it twice but how do i get one of them off
