Displaced anger maybe?

While reading about the septic tank inspection debate and how its going to become a big issue for TD's , it go me thinking about all the issues that were red hot in there day and that got people angry and often out on the streets, what ever happened to them.

Off the top of my head...The rod licences dispute haven't a clue what happened to that one.

Bin charges = double taxation...em well we are paying bin charges.

Phone masts on top of garda stations big protests about that as apparently they cause cancer, well there is a huge phone mast outside my local station.

Roscommon hospital as far as I know the 24 A and E is still closed.

There are lots more like the above feel free to add the one you remember, it seems to me that they fade out and archive very little and they are often not about the issue in hand but are a form of displaced anger?

You'd want to back them up more often, just in case like.

Having to read a post 4-5 times before I understand the ramblings?

Can you explain to me how people being angry at an A&E department closure is "displaced anger"?

The water rates back in late 80's early 90's, there was war at home with people arrested etc!

    Roll on next year

The reason that I think some are displaced anger ( not all are ) is because

The issues are often very simple ( 24 hour A and E was a bad example sorry )
they escalate out of all proportion to the issue involved, for example TD's lost there seats over the rod licences dispute.

It was in force for two years and then went quietly away. Basically very very few people bought one and there was a lot of local and national resistance to them. People power as it were. So it can work if enough people say sod off.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
