Did it last year and I can honestly say it was one of the most enjoyable events I've done (been racing 3 - 4 years). It's a local event but well organised and the location is second to none. The organiser (Nuala I believe) is a great woman doing a fantastic amount of work for charity down there.

Was probably the best goodie bag I got last year too, wish I was going down again this year.

I am doing this as well.

Apparently there are issues with insurance and the swim leg might have to be either canceled or only a sprint swim allowed.

I'm sure we will hear from Nuala soon enough.

Just got an e-mail from Nuala and the swim is going ahead tomorrow, happy days.

Well, this event didn't go so well for me, this was my first DNF in a tri. I had been pretty sick on Friday. I felt a bit better on the Saturday and I travelled down from Dublin that morning, but I just had nothing on the bike and started to get quite sick again and I just couldn't keep going. The last few km were downhill and downwind and all I wanted to do was get off and hitch a ride back so I could lie down so the run was totally impossible. A pity after I actually had a reasonable swim even though I missed the start and had to chase after the field by about 2 minutes!

The event itself was great. Fantastic setting, great weather, fine atmosphere. As a Kerryman, I knew the venue was great! Fair play to Nuala, she's a remarkable organiser.

The only gripe was kids running wild everywhere, I nearly knocked them down several times, and the transition was like a creche. Oh, and a fair amount of cow **** in the transition and car park, but again, it's Kerry!
