Well tomorrow morning is bin morning in Dun Laoghaire and I'm after emptying the kitchen bin into the green wheelie bin by mistake (in my defense it was VERY dark and usually they differentiate them with the number of handles, but not on this new one).

What can I do now? Wait until the rubbish bin is emptied tomorrow and then try to lift up the green one and put it all into the black one?

Has this happened to anyone else?

just forget about it.. Bin men don't go lookin through the bins to make sure ya only have the right rubbish in the right bin.. They couldn't give a flying fuk.. They put it on the truck, tip it in, an that's it done, they won't be losing sleep wondering if they put rubbish in with the recycled stuff..
