Have a multi point locking wood front door and frame installed by a major company in munster which was the contractor on my estate in 1996. Over time the door has become less snug in the frame, and the seal/trim has "perished", so in spite of a good radiator sited immediately inside the door, the hallway is cold. I am close to opting for a replacement pvc unit at a cost of approx €1400 but am wondering whether there's any company out there bringing such doors back to maximum efficiency? My house is in north east wicklow, thanks in advance!

You just need to get the door seals replaced, the door itself should be fine. Don't forget, you will never ever recoup €1400 in heating costs by replacing the door.
Co-incidentially, the guy who made my insulated doors hails from East Carlow (Clonmore to be exact) he should be able to get your door sorted, or put you in the right direction. Anymore info by PM obviously.
