Macbook Pro error pop-up - Too fast to read

Every few hours on my Macbook Pro (Mac OSx 10.7.1) theres a small pop up error message thats gone so fast I cant even read it.

All I can see is the grey box, with the yellow triangle error exclamation, but its gone as soon as it appears.

Is there any way of going through an error log or anything to see whats up with it?

    Thanks!

Have a look at the logs.

    Applications \ Utilities \ Console

Ive managed to get into the logs and have a look at this but still cant narrow down whats actually causing the popup.

Is there any way of filtering the log to only those that cause a pop up?

Log files are time stamped so check the time you get the error. Also there are plenty of logs so start with the system.log ( choose in left hand column of console).
