Hi, hoping someone can help me. I bought a night guard online 2 protect my teeth from nighttime grinding. It is a popular brand sold in America & is made to suit the majority of sufferers of bruxism and teeth grinding. Adjustable technology designed to fit all sizes. Designed by a specialist in dentistry. Self-adjust technology fits all sizes. it sells for €88 on an Irish website but I got it it for €30 on a us website.

My dentist has told me that if I use a retro fitted night guard I could do my teeth damage & I should have them get me fitted for one at the cost of €350. Would love to hear people's view in this, ie is my dentist telling the truth or just trying to make money.

Does a off the peg suit look or last as long as a made to measure one?

Really these DIY splints are not great no matter what the people selling it tell you. How can it every do the job properly. You have self diagnosed the problem and I use several different designs depending on the patients problems.

The best these can do is separate your teeth. They are cheaper, but low quality/ineffectiveness usually comes at a price advantage.
