Anyone know if there is one in IT Tallaght this year? Have a few people asking. I hear that there is a BJJ club there now.

Craig I know that there is none in Trinity or UCD (as I have been in both those college's ha) Although there is stand up martial arts in Trinity.... A friend of my friends trains MMA down in NUI galway.

But I have been told that real MMA clubs are the way forward. Are you thinking of joining all of them lol :)

Last year was the first year in a while that ucd didn't have one. In our final year we did great in terms of numbers and guys competing. but with many of the senior members graduatin or being in very demanding courses nobody was there to continue it on:( :(:(

There is going to be an MMA club in UCD this year. Was just in the Sports Expo (the Sports side of Freshers Week in UCD) and there was a guy there taking signatures. His name is Jake, trained out of the SBG affiliated club in Kerry and is gathering signatures to open up the club again (was told he would need about 40 and had over 60 this morning, so should be no problem). He still has to put through the signatures and paper work (insurances purposes etc), so the club wont start training yet, but he will send out emails to those who signed up before it starts (1st or 2nd week of October, hopefully).

I can throw a post up here to let people when and where the training will be, if there is any who didn't get to sign up.

Im running CIT MMA this year and was just wondering how many other clubs in colleges or universitys are about. It would also be handy if all these clubs had contact to arrange competitions, seminars, etc etc if anyone had something like this in mind.

so if anyone has details of a club can you post them here please :D

Well you may have mis-interpreted your friend, but there is no college MMA club in NUIG, although he may well be training in Point Blank Gym or Strange Wolves which are based in Galway city.
