What model is it hollow point and what's your budget?

I'll say what I say whenever there's a benelli thread. There are good and bad benelli semi autos. Some will cycle every cartridge you put in them and some will not cycle light clay loads.

I had a Super Black Eagle II and it never cycled 28 gram or lower cartridges.

Fantastic fitting gun though, much more balanced in the hand than my current beretta.

So my advice is shoot the exact gun you're thinking of licensing. Make sure it cycles everything, if it does then you're onto a winner as they really are great guns other than that

A friend of mine has a benelli semi auto. I don't know the exact model, but he finds it very good. I've got a beretta al391 sporter myself and I find it excellent. It'll cycle anything I put through it, from 24g trap loads to 50g 3" magnum 0's for foxes

I have a Benelli Montrefeltro game semi in left handed version.

I find it a great gun ....never any problems. The only problem I had was I found the stock a slight bit short (I'm 6' 1'') so I replaced the original recoil pad with a slightly longer recoil pad.

I've fired over 7,000 cartridges through it...from 28g clays to 42g no 3...never jammed once.

Very nice gun to handle (feels like an o/u) and is very well balanced. They are a doddle to clean as they have no gas piston that can clog like other semi's. They do not feel heavy and can be carried all day rough shooting.

    There's one here for €1,600

I could definitely recommend it. I would be fairly 'picky' about guns and would get rid of one immediately if it gave trouble or didn't suit.

I also have a Bettinsoli Sporter O/U (great gunfor the price!) but it's always the semi I take when going shooting. Only use the O/U for clays (where semi's not allowed) and for the odd driven shoot (semi not allowed)

If I was ever buying another semi - auto it would be a Benelli again....as I said couldn't fault them!

Had a Benelli Super 90 about 10 years ago now and it was super. Have a beretta 391 now for the field and its a great gun
