Don't forget that you can select to view the timetable for a specific week. It takes so much confusion out of the whole thing, and means you don't have to spend time making up your own interpretation.

Can someone explain to me how the timetable works? Like some of them say weeks 7-10 while others say weeks 5-10, does that mean that i don't start some tutorials/lectures until week 7?

Yep, that's pretty much it! Lectures / tutorials / labs are only on during the weeks it says on your timetable, unless for some reason you're told differently by your lecturers or demonstrators or whoever, but they will usually email you in such case.

Just to be clear, week 5 starts on Monday 26th :pac:

    Try go here:

    http://www.tcd.ie/Engineering/undergraduate/

Select your year on the left, and then there will be a few links including one for a timetable on the right.

Do the timetables change often? Like, a lot of the time mine has weeks 5-10 and then nothing else in its place, so does that mean after week 10 I'll have nothing there, or is there a chance something will be added in the meantime?

Visit http://isservices.tcd.ie/portal/ and once you've logged in go to Student Information System on the left side of the screen under Web Applications. From here, you should see a bold heading reading Timetabling, again at the left side of the screen. Underneath Your Student Timetable click Choose Timetable and select the week(s) you wish to view, beginning from September 26th, which is considered week five here in Trinity.

You may not be able to access this yet if you have not yet registered. Your user name will be whatever comes before @tcd.ie in your College e-mail address.

    Hope that helps!

What does PLACE mean? It's where LECT and TUT are usually but it's just for one class on a Saturday...

I wonder could it refer to a work placement? Somebody else can confirm this, but if work experience is a part of your course then that's likely what it is.

some of my modules have "Weeks 5-16", bit confused considering other modules make allowances for Reading Week but these don't... does this mean I have lectures during Week 7 or am I to assume I'm off?

Week 7 (which should be listed as Week 11 on the timetable) has traditionally been Reading Week in both Michaelmas and Hilary Semesters ("traditionally" being over the last two years). While it's usually a College-wide event, it's really at the discretion of your course, so you'll likely have to attend the lectures listed during that week.

Don't think of it as a waste though. I'd a Reading Week in one subject back in Junior Fresh, and it was a great relief for such a small change to the schedule. You'll find it much more restful than you probably think.

whoops meant Week 11, bit annoyed though if I do have a few lectures on during Reading Week... means I'll have to trek up for half the lectures and twice as many breaks :/

    Hello guys,
I am a little bit confused. My course is "Dental Science - TR052" in Trinity. The course is supposed to be rather time consuming. But my timetable is practically empty ! ( Based on it, I don't have anything on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. All I have are two lectures on Thursday ! Obviously this is impossible. )
So, could anyone doing Dental Science be kind enough to copy+paste the timetable you have ?

Also, I would be glad if someone gave me a link to the official timetable for TR052 course. ( Like, there is no way that I have to register just to see my timetable. This information must be publicly available to any user. It is not a military secret, isn't it ? )

Finally, I have a feeling that I have a mistake in my personal information at SIS. ( Not so lucky ... ) The name of my course = Dental Science ( correct ) but the code is 067 ( doubt ). Isn't the code ( logically ) supposed to be TR052 or 052 ?

    Thanks for attention

the code is different to the CAO code... I had the same query for Science when I was paying but got told that TCD uses internal codes instead of the CAO ones

Now, at least, I have less things to torture my brain with.
