iPhone 4 and reformatting Laptop

I want to reformat my laptop but want my iP4 and iTunes to be the same after I do this. I am using a program called Sharepod to backup songs and playlists to a harddrive. Am I missing something or can I just reformat and drag all the files into iTunes. Plug in iPhone, erase and sync? Thanks in advance for any helpful…

as long as you have the music backed up you should be fine.
