Hey all, I have my course meeting tomorrow (English TR023, JF) and am just wondering if it's entirely necessary or important to be there? There's a family occasion happening tonight at home, and while I'd love to be at the course meeting, if it's not exactly worthwhile I can make it home in time. Anybody know how worthwhile or what exactly happens at the course meeting?

    thanks!

I dunno about English but in Pharmacy we had a tour of the facilities, received a few forms , got a course handbook (Which looks extremely useful) and we got our timetable. I wouldn't say it's strictly speaking necessary as such but i'd do my best to be there.

    Cheers!

so it's not just a stand-up-and-introduce-yourself type of thing?

You should be able to pick up the course handbook online. I wouldn't consider it overly important that you go.

    Hi there,

I wouldn't worry too much. I missed the meeting today too due to a work commitment, but I popped by the office to pick up the course handbook and Diane said it was fine and that I hadn't missed much. Would have been nice to see fellow coursemates, but sure will be seeing them next week onwards anyway so not a big deal.

I got there in the end, it wasn't exactly worth it but i'm still glad i went -- it was both illuminating and quite shocking..
