Competition Law Hypothetical

Ok. so in an imaginary world there is a village that has a book shop.
I go and set up another book shop.

While contacting a supplier i am told that they (the supplier) wont trade with me because the first book shop has threatened to pull their business if the supplier does trade with me.

Now i understand that the onus is on the supplier to tell the first book shop where to shove his business (well i would anyway) but surely a scenario like this would breach competition laws.

Otherwise the first book shop would have a monopoly on the village, in regards to books sales that is.

Is there only one supplier that will supply books to that village for some reason? Obviously there is another supplier since the established merchant is willing to pull his business from the supplier. I'd go over their heads and find another supplier.

I don't see it as being in breach of competition law since there are other suppliers available and the new merchant can use them. Thats just my opinion.

    Yes i did consider that.
Maybe its just that morally it rings wrong to me.

If the supplier refuses to supply based on the threat of the established merchant's withdraw of trade then wouldnt that be a breach?

Possibly im looking for someone to say "Yes! You are right and we should burn them at the stake for such crimes :-)
