I've seen mentions on a couple of other forums, that there is a satellite-based (via hispasat) version of spanish tdt (terrestrial digital) which is only available if you can prove to the spanish authorities that your house is in a zone (in Spain) with bad tdt reception. In such a case you can get a govt approved installer to provide a satellite-fed tdt setup which is partially govt. subsidised.
Apparently these boxes + cards may also be bought without subsidy if you ask in the right place, and I've asked a couple of different people for confirmation of this in the past week, but no feedback so far.

    **Update***
I just got a call from a guy who says he can supply them no bother cost about EUR 450 for box + card plus shipping from canaries.
For that I could have 2 yrs of the minimum Digital+ subscription...hmmmmm

    Don't know if you've come across this -- http://www.starmax.es/ --.

But again because the boxes are delivered by post, and ID card number is needed in application, somebody else will have to do it for you.

    🧐IMHO, God wants us all to ENJOY many,many ice-creams , 🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦

Starmax is currently off the air, was "supposed" to relaunch this past autumn but no sign so far

All the channels mentioned in the first post are still available FTA, all of them except TVE (which is available on Hotbird) are on Astra 1.
