Anyone have any products they could recommend for smelly trainers?

I've to keep mine in the boot of the car right now. They're just awful. Your nose practically tries to invert itself into your face, the smell is so bad.

    Thanks

Leaving them in the boot of the car is not a good call:eek: no fresh air is getting to them...ur car must be hummin:p
Baking soda works well, leave some in your trainers overnight and it will absorb the smell.
Some athletes swear by baking soda improving their performance so have a spoonful of it while you're at it;)

    Time for a new pair!
Best thing I find is to make sure you take the insoles out after each run so they air separately, that way they don't end up smelling like death.

Prevention is best. If yours get damp/wet, stuff them with rolled up newspaper to absorb (some of) the moisture.

If you leave it too late, they'll smell like cats pi*s. then it's either bin them (severe), put up with it or put them in the garage (Mrs Condo(r) insists on that!:o (that sorts who wears the trousers! - I wear the short pants!:D)

    As ElectraX says....Baking Soda....works well

Remember been told by one guy before that he used to put cat litter into the smelly runners. But you need to make sure that the cat hasnt used it first....its designed to soak up smells and moisture.

That would be the EVA breaking down, buy more and newer runners.

    Hi,

I stick mine in the washing machine.

    Is this bad for them?

    Thanks.

The manufactures say not to put them in the washing machine. Clean them (if you have to) with luke warm water. The washing machine is too harsh on them.

I put my trail runners in the washing machine last week because of the whiff from them, it can hardly be worse than ploughing through bog and mud.

It did the trick anyway, smells gone

Cat litter is supposed to help. Leave it in them overnight.
