LCD\TFT or LED Monitor

I have been using 2X Dell 19" monitors (Dual Monitor Setup) for the last five years and one finally decided to checkout (Go South) today. I'm going to replace both of them but am not sure if I should go the bit extra and get LED instead of LCD.

I don't game so my needs are not that high.

I can get these LG W2246S-BF - LCD display - TFT - 21.5" for €129 Euro each delivered.

or these LG E2340S 23" LED Monitor 16:9 HD 5ms Black for £124 Sterling each plus delivery.

Any opinions on LCD versus LED?

They're both actually LCD monitors, its just the fact that monitors advertised as LED have LED backlights instead of the traditional CCFL backlights found in many LCD screens and TV sets.

In fact, most LED backlit monitors are only edge lit and not fully backlit, making some of these screens much thinner but not as bright as their CCFL relatives; If you do get a LED backlit LCD monitor, make sure it is of the fully backlit variety for a better quality picture.
why is life soo complicated nowaday :(

I'm leaning towards the LED model, as I'm not looking to anything fancy with them. LED would also have many more thousands of hours life span compared to the lights in the older monitors?
