I love the truly awful translation. Hilarious. Mat itself seems good. I have the boomerang. Like it a lot. Use it a lot.

Firstly I'd recommend getting one as close in speed to the greens that you normally putt on. I got one recently and it is much faster than the greens at my home course - so while my putting stroke got better my pace on the course got worse.

Other than that I would say get as large a one as possible so that you can practise putts from different lengths and positions.

Where do you pick it up ?

@nocal - good point. But how do I figure it out other than using it ?

Had a quick look but official store is US which I'd rather avoid. Are a couple on ebay but shipping is quite expensive

£24.95 plus £3.40 on Amazon, including the boomerang & the mat

I might be tempted, if I wasn't also so tempted by the thought of giving the game up for good.

You could ask your club green staff to match the actual green speed to the putting mat you purchase?:)

Here one I use from ebay for a tenner:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dunlop-6x1-Putting-Mat-Multi-/250891825171?pt=Men_s_Accessories_UK&hash=item3a6a517013

I don't think the speed of the mat matters. No matter how fast your greens are, uphill putts are slow. It's all about creating a repeatable/dependable stroke. If you can hole out regularly from 5/6 feet then you'll be a very good putter.

Will you tell us how you get on with it. I just started a new thread re thinking of giving up golf for good, but I am tempted to by this too!!

What's wrong with a short pile carpet (or whatever they are called......."fast carpet")? If you don't have any carpet then just buy a cheap offcut?

I use my landing carpet and it does the job.

It's all about the gadgets stockdam!

The boomerang does look fairly good, a little more than the landing carpet approach.
