My advice is to just get the required books.

The majority of the readings will be from these books.

For the readings that were not I just photocopied the relevant chapter from the library or if you have an iPhone you can use the likes of Jotnot to scan the chapter to PDF.

My experience from last year is that the additional books for the most part just repeat the main textbook and are not worth the additional cost.

Some students send emails to the next class selling books on occasion.

It is not always a good idea to sell books as depending on what course you are on you could need them again.

So unless you are certain that you wont need that book again I wouldnt sell it.

Another idea to save money is by using Amazon Kindle.

Some of the books are available to rent which is a great idea and saves money.

Kindle can work on computers, kindle devices, iPads etc.
