Getting out of the airport (again)

    Hello,

I need some advice from people who may do this from time to time.

Someone I know arrives on the 6th October at 18:00 on SAS in T1.
Is there enough time to make it from landing, on to Dublin Bus and into BusÁras for a bus at 19:00 (luggage collection is not an issue).

In my own head I seriously doubt it. While it's possible to get out of the airport and get the 747 service at 19:30 I don't think there's enough time to get into Connolly and to BusÁras in 30minutes?

Or perhaps someone who does this more often can tell me differently?

Secondly, I've never tried it myself but is it possible to buy a ticket for a Bus Eireann service on the bus from BusÁrus?

Forgot to add: How much is a taxi from the airport to BusÁrus and can it beat the bus?

    Thanks.

    Not a hope IMHO.

It would take some doing, and a serious amount of luck.

well getting the 747 half an hour after the bus eirenn bus leaves doesnt make sense but i guess you meant 18:30.
but no way in hell. they would be lucky to be on the 747 by 19:00!

To Ballina, they don't have one at that time, the latest in the evening is 7:00 from the city centre.
Do Taxis do the run any faster and if so any idea of costs?

If you got the Taxi to go through the Port tunnel which would cost €10 in the toll it would probablly cost between €30 - €35 and it would probably be the fastest method of getting there on time but it would be still cutting it fine any slight delay with the flight would see them miss the bus.

Not a hope I'd say. Even with the taxi.

If the Pilot 'dropped you off' upon final approach, you might have some chance.

But 60mins from scheduled touchdown in Dublin Airport to bus station in central Dublin....odds are stacked firmly against you I'm afraid.

Does the 747 bus goes through the port tunnel now??

If it does I kinda half reckon they could make it?

I got a Eus Eireann bus to Belfast recently and it went through the port tunnel. Took 15/20 mins to get from Busaras to the airport. So I think a taxi could do it if it went through the port tunnel? If they even do that? They might if you pay the tunnel fare? I don't know, you should call around some firms and see what the general reaction is.

If they would do it, I think you would make it. That's if the flight arrives on time and they make a dash for the taxis.

Incorrect, the 10 euro toll for southbound is only between 0600 and 1000, so it would be a 3 euro toll

The 747 does use the port tunnel but since they amalgamated the 747 and 748 it takes a meandering route all over the place after the tunnel. The Dublin Bus Website says it takes 40 mins Airport-Busaras
