We bitch n moan about the British/European cards, but when you compare and contrast 138 and 139 it's hard not to be p1ssed about the well below par cards we're being thown this side of the ocean.

Jesus i would pay anythin to see hendo take bispings head off again. I was watching that live, and i honestly thought bisping might be dead

I remember all the talk bisping was doin and all hendo said was he took 'a mental note'. Class

although hendo has fought at middleweight, and shogun isnt a big light heavy weight so its impossible, unlikely though

Yet the 'sheep' continue to buy tickets to these sub-par events

Has anybody actually ever mentioned to Dana White that the events over this side of the world are few and far between and when we do get them they're really weak cards?
Or does everybody just grumble and complain to each other without saying anything? Not that it'd make much of a difference I suppose, we'd probably just be told to like it or lump it that's what we're getting.

I've sent him a few emails moaning but no reply, and IF he does a Q&A session here all the Questions are people trying to scrounge free shiit or kissing his ass.

If somebody ever does mention it ya just get the stock answer of "We love coming to the UK and are working on big things, watch this space":rolleyes:

Yeah I suppose your right. Have you ever tried to get a huge petition signed to get a better card in this direction or do you think that would be a waste of time too? Or maybe backfire?
It just seems really unfair that the UFC just kind of throws us any 'aul card just to keep us quiet for a while, meanwhile the rest of the world gets much better cards.

Petitions are pointless, Dana said, i think it was at a Q&A for 75, 80, that UK would be getting cards on a par with U.S, which has proved to be an outright lie.
Every time him or that puppet Zelaznik are confronted about it they just say they're working on it.

They can't lose really, if a weak card sells out then they've won, if it doesn't sell out they'll just turn round and say that they don't need to do as many events in UK as events not selling out.

Hendo has also fought at Heavyweight since then. But has also made reference to fighting anderson again.

Shogun isn't stepping down, he has lots of scores to settle at LHW. so the Shogun is defo at LHW, but if Hendo wins he mgiht step down to MW for Anderson, but anderson alone imo

Any event on over here or in the uk means it's on at an awkward time in the states so they cant put it on PPV. If the UFC cant make much they arent going to stack the card with pricey names. No amount of bitching will change that. Personally im just happy we get ufc events at all.

Re- Hendo v Bisping; Bisping has recently said that he feels a move back to lhw is inevitable at some point.

One of the Mods on the Fight Club has a quote in his signature, when he asked Dana at a Q&A about the quality of cards here, (which Scud just referred to). Dana's answer was along the lines of "you will get the same quality of card as in the US, all the big names will fight in the UK also".

    Proven crap at this stage.

You notice that Zelaznik is now refusing to answer any complaints at all now? He does reply to various comments but anything even vaguely resembling a complaint or an awkward question and he just ignores it.

Surprised he hasn't "unfriended" me yet!

That is another thing that has been suggested on MZ's facebook and in the Fight Club with practically no response. If the time difference is such a big issue then put the events on later so that it still works for the US audience and can go on PPV. I believe their last Australian event aired mid afternoon local time for that reason.

Boxing has had events in the UK that started late and had the main event going on at about 2/3am so no reason they couldn't at least try it for MMA. Some guy asked the question on facebook and every single response was in agreement, but surprise surprise MZ ignored it.

Although I see what you're getting at here, I really don't think having a UFC event at 2/3am here or in the UK would be a good idea.

Remember UFC 93? Remember all the little wannabes who were at the show? "Oh, is that Chuck Liddell fella fightin'? I heard he wants to fight Tank Abbott!". Those clowns were there along with any group of clownish lads who could afford a €50 "nosebleed" ticket. There were more dodgy bumfluff moustaches that night than at a Tom Selleck convention.

Remember how many of them were starting fights outside, real fights and "mess" fights with their friends which turned real. Remember the fights INSIDE the place?

Now........... imagine all that.... but after they had been on the drink all evening and coming straight from a nightclub! Disaster waiting to happen.

Never seen 1 fight outside the cage at 93, London for 75 was a different matter, that was just ugly all round.
Nothing seen at 70, 72 or 80 either

Fancy a little bet here? For a pint at some stage?

First one to get binned by MZ (And he must bin you) wins :D:D:D

I saw 2 just in the section I was in! Also saw fights outside.

That and the fact there was a group of lads looking to start fights with anyone they came across! They also started lumping snowballs sleetballs at people

I did see one fight at 93 (in the crowd).

As for late events, I wonder how many of those young troublemakers would be there for a late event? I'd imagine it would be a more hardcore educated crowd rather than the casual lot that don't know much but just want to see someone killed.

I know it has worked in the UK before for boxing events so it would be worth a try.

Could work out a lot cheaper for us here too, i mean final flight of the night into Manchester/London (11pm) is normally pennies, then first flight outta the kip at 7am can be got for pennies too ;)

Wasn't just their last card. Both events were on at about 12pm. All UFC events air 11am-1pm in Oz on the Sunday due to timezones. They kept it liek this for the PPV.
It wasn't a big deal at all, and TBH I prefer it that way as that the time I watch UFC at.

Just noticed Cung Le Vs Wandi on the card, seems like a great fight on paper but just wonder how much Le has been training these days

I'm excited for this one but i remember saying that in the build up to Hendo/Belfort and well, the less said about that the better.

Got Wandy for this every day of the week and twice on a Sunday, be interesting to see what odds he is.

I'm not too sure. Le can hit hard and Wandi has shown he can't take being hit on the button these days!

It's a perfect fight for him though. Someone who will stand and trade with him and who will also come out all guns blazing in the first round (Le doesn't have the gas tank to go 3 full rounds).

Cung has powerful kicks but not a great deal in his hands , through out his fighting career mma/kickboxing he hasn't shown much one shot power. It's more of a sustained attack(especially with kicks to the legs and body)and then finishing a weary beaten up opponent in a later round. Which he has done impressively but to guys of a very average level for the most part. A shot Wand still took Bisping and Franklin to decisions, getting the nod against Bisping and the people who've knocked him out were huge punchers. So this looks to very much play into his favour. Cung has the gas tank to go 3 rounds but if he has to fight at Silva's pace it could be a different case. Should suit Wand this one but if his decline is moving at the pace we think it is, then you never know.
