Getting home at night!

What options are there for commuters like me for getting home in the late evenings?
I've checked the trains and the last one leaves at 10.05pm.
    Come on! That's so early!

I heard someone mentioning that sometimes there are coaches to take people to Dublin after the SU closes around 11, is this true?

Who here commutes and how to do you go about getting home after a night/evening out?

(I know the best option is to make friends with someone who lives in Maynooth but until then!!)

The last 66 bus is at 23:15 and the last 67 bus is at 23:30.

Ffs, they've gotten rid of the last train? That's a disgrace, that means two trains come out to Maynooth in the night and return empty to Connolly. Joke of a country.

I'm in the exact same situation, I'm going to the fresher's ball with no way to get home :( I know a few people living on campus, so I was thinking of crashing on someone's couch or something but I'd feel like I was imposing, I haven't known these people a full week yet. A tour guide last week told me you can rent out rooms in the south campus for one night for 25 euro, but I wouldn't know how to sort that out. I was on the verge of attempting to refund my ticket when my dad offered to collect me, cause "you only get one fresher's ball" :)

I'd say you should try to bum a couch off someone, rent one of those south campus 25 euro rooms or convince someone to collect you/give you a lift home.

Actually I checked, for some weird reason the 2310 train doesn't stop at Ashtown, still runs though. Bizarre.

The thing is the Dublin buses that go to town are actually no good to me because the last bus from town to my house leaves at 11.30 so I need to be in Dublin city centre by that time!

It's ridiculous that the last train doesn't stop at all the stations, I'll send Irish Rail a strongly worded email about this...
    And nothing will change!!

Just FYI there's a new train schedule from September 25th URL="http://www.irishrail.ie/your_journey/printed_timetable_pdfs/sep2011/Dublin%20Maynooth%2011.pdf"]here[/URL and from what I can see the new 23.10 will stop at all the stops along the way.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get pdf copies of the Dublin Bus timetable (66 and 67) so I can get them on my phone (it's an iphone if that makes a difference)?
They'll come in handy for those nights that I'm out in Maynooth but have to go home early because of work!

That's part of the enjoyment of going to it though. The unknown element of where you are staying that night. Happens every time I go to Dublin.

Just ask someone you know on campus can you stay on the couch like you said. 99% of people will say no problem.

Failing that get chatting to a good looking young one. One thing leads to another and you get to stay in hers. Get her number and you have a place to stay on campus every night you go out and you might get lucky with her after.

Or works way better if you're female.

They don't do sex changes in the medical centre btw.

Well they'll snip it off but they won't sew it on. Apparently.
