I know that this is going to open peoples eyes but I bought a car this morning, and it wasnt a Renault but is is French. I know this car for a few years. Part of of a Peugeot Collection. It really is that clean. Just needs a service as beening lying for 2 years. Every MOT from new. Most of the MOT's for last 10 years have only 20 miles between them.

Peugeot 505 GTI Auto.1985. 49000 genuine miles and its MINT.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

    Just lovely :)

    Well wear!

Many a time were we overtaken by 505s cruising at significant speeds on the Autoroute in the 70s / 80s :D

Out of interest, how much did it set you back? Can't have been much cheaper than the R30 you were interested in recently?

I'd prefer not to say on the price , only that it was a little cheaper than the R30.
Actually as regards the 30, I offered the guy what he wanted for it if he met me in Fishguard with it, and if I was happy I would pay him there and then---I got a flat NO -)

    Fabulous car. Well Wear!

Brings back memories of the Peugeot's we had in our family, including one 504, although I can only remember getting my fingers caught on the door of the glove box of that car, as a child, but I instantly remember the familiar clocks and dials of the older Pugs when I saw your pics.

Well wear, looks like a great buy. They're a great car imo, I had a 505 estate myself with the 2.5 diesel, a car I seriously regret selling, great memories of driving it around France at the World Cup in 98. There's thousands of them still on the road in Africa and the Middle East.

Its automatic, petrol and RHD. Three no-no's for Africa. ;)

But if it does end out there as a taxi it will probably eventually look something like this:

Lovely car....well wear. A friend's parents (farmers) had one of these for years and used to tow the cattle to the mart with it. Think their daughter wrote it off when learning to drive.

Well done sir, many of us could take a leaf out of your book with your policy of getting rid of what you have before you buy another car.
    Shes a beaut.

Unfortunately its a case of having to do it this way now, much as I'd like to have a fleet. I do have a get out clause on the Peugeot. I bought it from a friend who is will to buy it back if I decide its not for me!
I have to say that I really like it though;)

    That is simply beautiful.

My father had a 505 GR when I was a child and it is my earliest memory of a car.

Cool car, a fella up the street from my granny had one fo these and when I was a young lad I used to spend hours looking at it. I would personally love one in a diesel but I am a total classic diesel freak:D
