What ever happened to The Bermuda Triangle?

Children of the 70's and 80's may remember all the hype and hoopla concerning The Bermuda Triangle AKA The Devils Triangle is a body of water where for centuries ships and even entire flights of aircraft during various wars had mysteriously vanished without trace. There was a cinema release docu-movie about it which people flocked to. A slew of crappy "B" tv sci fi series about folk falling prey to The Triangle and finding them selves in other dimensions. I seem to remember it being referred to in a news programme when a plane crashed in that part of the world. Heck I even knew someone who new someone who's brothers friends cousin knew a pilot who had had problems when flying near to it.
This was attributed to everything from mundane fluctuations in the earths magnetic field pulling down air craft (though how this worked on timber sailing ships was never explained), to alien activity and even to a solar weapon invented by The Atlantiens which caused the island to sink but which was still shooting blasts of solar energy occasionally.
Anyone else remember this or was i eating too many Wham bars and fizzle sticks and having sugar induced head trips?

Didn't it turn out to be something really boring like magnetic pull on the sea bed or something??

Not what we wanted to hear:(

I always suspected alien activity-this scientific explanation was far too bland.

As far as i can figure it turned out to be nothing more than folk lore with a little added time, chinese whispers, hysteria etc. A bit like Knock but more fun!

People did a complete 180 on the issue and triangles fell out of favour for appearing obtuse.

Turned out it was a square all along.

Years of scientific work down the drain.

People have become more interested in the money and people that disappeared outside the triangle, than anything disappearing inside it.

Bermuda Triangle It makes people disappear
Bermuda Triangle Don't go too near
But she Doesn't see my angle
And she thinks I'm being dumb
    So Bermuda Triangle
    Here we come!

Sung by Barry Manilow and used to advertise a blue triangled box of chocolates

It was created when the Mary Celeste suddenly decided to do a three point turn and being a wimmin driver, took it too literally. The disappeared people/boats etc are waiting in the middle for her to finish before they dare venture out

It was turned off by the US government due to lack of funding.

The last half-logical explanation I heard was that it's causes by an underwater volcano / vent which, when it "erupts" affects the bouyany and airborne-ness of anything above it.

B.A. Robertson had a cool song about Flight 19.

It was bought by the Disney Corporation in 1997 and to avoid being shapist (of course we all know that sordid story about Michael Mouse and the whole lurid triangle saga of '85) they turned it into a circle. However audience approval tests for the "New and Improved Bermuda Circle" plunged it's popularity and Disney sold it onto Billy Ray Cyrus in 2004. He stores his daughter there until she's need for another daytime Hanna Banana movie.

The same thing happened to it as happened to miracles, people starting applying logic and reason to claims made about it and it began looking less and less mysterious. Now its about as much of a mystery as Jesus now limiting himself to appearances on slices of toast.

Its still about and Nat Geog and those science channels are always doing pieces about it.

I seen a logical explanation about the phenomena involving natural gas eruptions.

It is around the deepest part of the ocean in the world and when this gas is released from the bottom the bubbles ionize, causing magnetism which mess about with compasses and electronics. Also ships lose buoyancy in bubbly water and sink intact and planes explode with the the large amount of highly inflammable gas in the air. Then they sink to the deepest part of the ocean.

Also ionized gas glows in the air which explains the UFOs associated with the area.

So its either that, aliens or a black hole.

In a fine example of Darwinian Evolution in action, everyone who had much interest in the Bermuda Triangle, has at some point or other gone there to investigate it and promptly dissapeared. Thus humanity has evolved into a genetically superior species with little to no interest in the Bermuda Triangle.

There was a documentary on Discovery about it a few months ago. A group of sailors sailed close to it and their equipment went haywire. I think it has something to with the Earths magnetic pull.

There's also a similar triangle on the other side of the world called the Dragons Triangle or Devils Sea.

They had sailed the boat from the US Virgin Islands to Bermuda and after a brief stop-over set out for Crookhaven on 21 August.

They were due to arrive in the west Cork village on Thursday last.

There has been no radio contact with the yacht since it left Bermuda and yesterday coastguard services there and here in Ireland became concerned for its safety.

Its the lack of crop circles that's bothering me. Grainy shots of UFOs are completely out of fashion as well, I put that down to the skies being chock full of Chinese Lanterns.

Its funny I've heard of this all my life. Only now found out where it is. Of the coast of Miami, Florida .... to puerto rico .... to the Bermuda Island.

Surely they've solved this now right? *searches google*

Some people do have 'imaginative' CT beliefs alright and some do not. But calling people retards just because they disagree with you, or don't tow your party line? Is very ironic indeed.

From what I just searched up... they still use it. Planes, boats and the like. Just go right through it. Its even said that captains of airplanes like to inform their passengers when passing through it (I imagine for kicks :pac:) ... looks like all of it was blown out. It can still be interesting with how gas bubbles can sink ships. But again, still just blown out.

I think it moved to Mexico. I remember watching a programme about the Zone of Silence.
Sorry I couldn't find a more credible source.
    La Zona del Silencio

Load of horse**** in my opinion
