Hello all, new to boards so let's see if I'm doing this correctly. I'm sure someone will let me know if I'm not. :)

I live about 4 miles outside Galway and am looking for musicians to collaborate with on an original project. I don't play an instrument but I do write songs and sing. The melody for a song usually just comes to me and I record it onto my phone or a little recorder I keep handy. I've quite a number of songs and incomplete ideas that I'd like to share with other musicians and singers and am open to all input, thoughts and direction.

Collaboration is the keyword here. I'm not attached to any outcome and you'll find me interested to hear your feedback and how I can best work with you and incorporate your music ideas with mine.

I know the next thing I should should probably try and explain is the style of music I've been recording over the years. This is where it's a bit tricky and I'm often at a loss to clearly explain what exactly the type of instrument I hear for some of the pieces. Some of them have female backing vocals like those of L Cohen and the traditional instruments you'd find in any band, guitars, keys etc. Others have just the instruments with one vocal. On some songs I hear strings and indeed some sampling would fit on others. I suppose if you took a bit of Coldplay, Nick Drake, U2 along with a little Kate Bush, Imogen Heap and even a bit of Foo Fighters and threw it all into a blender you might have it. It's a mixed bag really, some are a little gritty and some are quiet. Certainly leaves it all open to explore which I think is cool.

I've been in a couple of bands when I lived in the US but always left the original stuff on the back burner, so It would be great to bring together like minded players and singers who would want to start something from scratch and collaborate on a project. I have no problem working with anybody of any age or gender. I'm young middle aged myself. I'm only interested in bringing all our ideas to fruition and then lets see what happens. :) Thanks for taking the time to have a read.

I Look forward to hearing from you.
    Cheers,
    Dave
