is the kilereig gc in carlow any use? I saw there's a Citi deal there so was thinking of going down with the lack.

I have always got the impression that Killerig never quite got off the ground. I played it a couple of times a number of years ago when it opened first. It is a nice enough course ( Smyth / Brannigan design I think). I am sure I read on here at some stage that financial constraints
led to cut backs in course maintenance. I think it would be worth a trip if the deal is good and you have time also to take in Mount Wholesley
which is only down the road and is a very nice course.

Played it a few years ago and it was terrible, waste of money to play it. But like I said that was a while ago, so maybe it's improved over the past few years, I don't know but I never returned because it was so poor the day i played.

Hmm, thanks guys. It's €130 for 2 nights B&B plus a round of golf or a spa treatment (I'm guessing not each, as they don't say each). I might book it and womp down to Carlow or Mount Woosley for a round while she's relaxing.

I played this course for 15 eur midweek about a month ago and its not even worth that much! The grass is overgrown on much of the course and bunkers have grass in them in places. The cutbacks on staff have badly affected the maintenance of the course. Definitely go to Mount Wolseley if you have the choice.
