    Hi all

Im just wondering is there one English course that is better than another for the CV for someone who is not a native speaker to show proficiency?

Is a FETAC accredited English course the best one to do, would this be recognised around the world for getting jobs etc?

I am a native English speaker myself but just enquiring to see if there were adults or teenagers coming across from another country to learn English, is there a specific course that would be best for them to bring back to their own country and for future employment.

I'm not aware of any stand-alone English language FETAC module being offered anywhere, but these are listed on the FETAC website. FETAC awards in general tend to focus on more practical areas of study e.g. Communications.

For international recognition, the best thing to do would be to sit ESOL exams accredited by a reputable body e.g. Cambridge exams. Most language schools would offer these.

ACELS courses are registered with the Department of Education and Science.

There are a list of recognised schools here:

    Thanks for that guys.

I'm just wondering can foreign students do a FETAC English as Second Language Course? Would they have to be resident in Ireland to do this?

With ACELS - is there any type of exam that people/children could do in an ACELS school to get something extra for the CV.
