    Hey Guys,

I'm struggling to find accurate information about the cost of student fares on the DART.

Some people are saying the information online is out of date, and it's very hard to tell if I'm looking at the right stuff.

If anyone could clarify what the story is with student fares that would be great

Currently im travelling from Greystones to Pearse station and it's costing me 8.20 return. That's the adult fare and is very steep for me.

Does anyone know if it's possible to purchase one use student tickets instead of buying an adult ticket each time? I have a student travel card

Also what are the different options and prices for students tickets
I know there's a monthly student one, but is there a weekly one too? I've no idea on any of the prices so if someone could let me know that would be brilliant!

I haven't had the chance the inquire at the station as it's always manic when i'm there
    Thanks

No student fare on Dart trips. Your best option is probably a student bus/train ticket; it's €96 per month so you'd have it paid off in a little over 2 weeks plus bus travel thrown in.

Oh yeah, check out this before you buy one http://www.studenttravelcard.ie/

From what I can recall when I got student monthly tickets (rail-only, there is a bus+rail one as well), they cost around €70 and are good for anywhere on the DART network. A weekly one is around the €20 mark. The vending machines can issue monthly student tickets but not sure about weekly ones. Make sure you have a student travel ID card though!

    Hmm interesting,

I did see on Dublin Bus that there's a bus and dart combo for the month that costs 96 euro

I wasn't sure if the DART student monthly etc.. were all the same price because there's a big differences in fares depending on where your going for the single tickets anyway

While sorting the ticket, you might consider a smart card. Single fare is then €4.

Student Weekly Short Hop Rail Only is EUR 23.20 and Monthly Short Hop Rail Only is EUR 76.00 (covering all DART and Commuter services within Balbriggan, Kilcoole, Maynooth, M3 Parkway and Hazelhatch).

Student Monthly Short Hop Bus/Rail is EUR 96.00.

All require the IE/DB Student Travel Card.

Customers must pay for all tickets in one payment in advance by Credit or Debit Card
Cant see many students or their parents being able to afford the conditions of this offer.
